GEAR in Paris

Many members of GEAR have attended and presented 6 papers in the ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT KNOWLEDGE WEEK (E2KW), an international conference organized by CYTEMA-UCLM in collaboration with UPEC-Cetreil. The six papers presented were:

Workshop: Current economic problems between Spain-EU and China

Last October 3rd , GEAR-UCLM has been visited by a group of researchers from three Chinese Universities to discuss and present recent works about Chinese, EU and World socioeconomic challenges.

The workshop, entitled “A comparative analysis of current economic problems between Spain-EU and China” was organized by Prof. Óscar Dejuán and María Ángeles Cadarso (University of Castilla-La Mancha) and by Prof. Ma Ying from Wuhan University.

The list of participants were: Prof. Guo Xibao, Ye Chusheng and Li Zhuo from Wuhan University, Prof. Ning Zhong from Fudan University, Prof. Xu Changsheng from Huanzhong University of Science and Technology and Prof. Fabio Monsalve and Guadalupe Arce from the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

New publication in Nature Climate Change

GEAR team members Jorge E. Zafrilla and Luis Antonio López, in collaboration with Tiago Domingos, from MARETEC, Intituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon), have recently published the Correspondence entitled «Consistency of technology-adjusted
consumption-based accounting» in the prestigious journal Nature Climate Change.

Invited researcher: Mona Chitnis (University of Surrey, UK)

During July, GEAR-UCLM has been visited by the researcher and lecturer Mona Chitnis from the University of Surrey, Guilford (United Kingdom). With this visit, Mona and the GEAR-UCLM members have strengthened potential common collaborations.

Last Wednesday, July 27th, Mona presented her last contributions in the field of the estimation of direct and indirect rebounds effects for UK households in the framework a research seminar with the GEAR-UCLM group.

New publication in JIE

GEAR team members Luis A. López, Guadalupe Arce and Fabio Monsalve, in collaboration with Manuel Morenate, graduate student of the Master’s Degree Programme
in Sustainable Growth and Development, have recently published in Journal of Industrial Ecology the paper entitle «Assessing the Inequality of Spanish Households through the Carbon Footprint: The 21st Century Great Recession Effect».

GEAR in Seminars

Jorge Zafrilla has been invited by the Seville University (Cátedra de Economía de la Energía y del Medio Ambiente) to giving a talk entitled: «Global emissions chains and multinational enterprises. Measuring responsibilities following the control criterion» in the framework of the VIII WORKSHOP ON ENERGY ECONOMICS AND PUBLIC POLICIES EVALUATION (June, 8 – 9 th).
