Prof. Rodrigo served as editor of the Journal of Electrochemical Science and Engineering from 2011 to 2016, and currently sits on the Editorial Boards of the following journals:

Prof. Rodrigo was Head of Division 5 (Electrochemical Process Engineering and Technology) of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) from 2022 to 2024, and previously served as Vice President of the same division during 2015–2016.
He was Chair of the Working Party on Electrochemical Engineering of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE) from 2011 to 2018, and remains active in the group, as well as in the Energy Section of the EFCE since 2018.
Currently, he is Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences and Technologies at UCLM (2021–), having previously served as Vice Dean (2007–2015) and Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (April 2009–February 2016).
He also leads the Spanish Excellence Network on Environmental and Energy Applications of Electrochemical Technology (2018–2025), and has organized multiple events on electrochemical technology, including an ISE Topical Meeting and an EFCE Summer School.
His service to the scientific community includes:
- Collaborator for the Chemical Technology area at ANEP (Spanish National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective) from July 2015 to January 2017
- Collaborator in the CTQ/IQM area of the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) from January 2017 to June 2020
- Member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee of the National Center for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Testing (CNH2) in Spain from December 2013 to September 2018
- Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Research Center for Technologies, Energy and Industrial Processes at the University of Vigo since January 2021
- Member of the Castilla-La Mancha Science Advisory Council (2022–2025), a consultative body of the regional government
He has also been an academic guest at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and a visiting professor at the University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (France). He has collaborated in teaching activities with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) for several years.
Currently, he serves as President of the Official Conference of Directors and Deans of Chemical Engineering.
