Presentation of the new Atlas of Desertification in Spain: a key tool for tackling one of the country’s greatest environmental challenges.

The University of Alicante and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) officially presented on November 27, 2025, the first Atlas of Desertification in Spain, a pioneering document that scientifically maps the severity, extent, and causes of desertification across the national territory. The event took place at the University of Alicante’s City Campus and brought together the project’s coordinators, institutional representatives, and numerous researchers who contributed to its development, among whom I have had the honor of participating.

The University of Castilla – La Mancha has subscribed many inter-institutional agreements with universities all over the world which allow the development of different international mobility programmes (Erasmus+ studies, Erasmus+ Internships and other non-Erasmus programmes) or the programmes of lecturers, which enable lecturers having a stay in a foreign university as well as at UCLM.

The Mobility programmes from the University of Castilla – La Mancha include the exchange of a great number of students every year and, in fact, they enrich both their academic and personal training of the students, as they allow them to learn another way of working, learning other languages and opening their minds to other ideas and cultures.

When a member of the university community decides to participate into an international mobility programme he/she must accomplish some requirements which will be explained in the corresponding call of proposals.
