The ApNano group studies the connection between structural and magnetic (including magnetotransport) properties in diverse nanoscale materials, from dilute systems of magnetic nanoparticles (0-dimensional systems) to particle stripes (1D nano-objects), and from thin films (2D) to dense assemblies – both ordered and disordered – of nanoparticles (3D systems). Our aim is to gain fundamental insight into structure-magnetic property relationships, which, in turn, may contribute to energy, sensor and biomaterials technologies.
