The course contents are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module 1 \u2018A supranational cinema for supranational Europe\u2019 (introduction to the seminar) plus &#8216;Europeanism and its discontents\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module 2 \u2018Identity and the past: From nostalgia to utopia\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module 3 \u2018Anger, wrath and conflict in European cinema\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Module 4 \u2018European ways of feeling\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout this course, we will be able to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 understand a wide range of arguments and issues relating to European ideology, culture and concepts of identities, as illustrated by European cinematographic production;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 evaluate the main issues surrounding national, cultural and political concepts in the search for European identity in this medium;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 develop an awareness of European integration process with a descriptive and artistic picture of European society;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 increase their knowledge and understanding of other EU member societies, languages and cultures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Language, Identity and Emotions in European Multilingual Cinema (0.5 ects) 1st edition: 11th November to 27th November 2019 (four three and a half hour sessions, movie included, held each Wednesday evening, between 16:00 and 19:30).
