Día de Europa

9 DE MAYO DE 2020

Para celebrar el día de Europa, este año recordamos la figura del médico y poeta italiano nacido en Verona Girolamo Fracastoro (1478-1553), que con su nueva teoría sobre el contagio suscitó en Europa el debate moderno sobre la transmisión de enfermedades infecciosas.

On Europe Day 2020, we recall the Verona-born Italian physician and poet Girolamo Fracastoro (1478-1553), whose new theory of contagion sparked in Europe the modern debate on the transmission of infectious diseases.
