You can find \u201cThe Sustainability Challenge of Dairy Livestock\nSystems\u201d inside the book <em>Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Dairy\nFarms<\/em>, edited by Santiago Garc\u00eda-Yuste, it is part of the SpringerBriefs in\nApplied Sciences and Technology book series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book, <em>Sustainable\nand Environmentally Friendly Dairy Farms<\/em>, presents an innovative\nenvironmental proposal. While chiefly focusing on dairy farms, the\nenvironmental solution it describes applies to the entire livestock sector. This\nbook is divided into five chapters elaborated by eight authors. The first\nchapter -written by the GEAR members listed above &#8211; describes the current situation of the global dairy livestock\nindustry under the influence and challenge of the commitments of the so-called Paris\nAgreement and addresses the carbon footprint of dairy farms. Firstly, the key points of the Agreement affecting the livestock and\ndairy systems are discussed within the framework of the Sustainable Development\nGoals. Next, a detailed analysis of the evolution of the activity and the\ngreenhouse gas emissions of the industry is presented. Finally, a summary of\ncurrent environmental solutions and bioeconomy alternatives will contribute to\nenriching the discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This\ncontribution is part of the collaboration of the GEAR group in a UCLM\u2019s multidisciplinary\nresearch group.
