{"id":1480,"date":"2020-02-07T17:06:18","date_gmt":"2020-02-07T16:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.uclm.es\/grupogear\/?p=1480"},"modified":"2022-11-24T16:40:41","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T16:40:41","slug":"co-organization-of-the-15th-conference-of-the-spanish-association-fro-energy-economics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uclm.es\/grupogear\/2020\/02\/07\/co-organization-of-the-15th-conference-of-the-spanish-association-fro-energy-economics\/","title":{"rendered":"Co-organization of the 15th Conference of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 15<sup>th<\/sup>\nConference of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics (AEEE) was held at\nthe University of Castilla-La Mancha, at the lovely city of Toledo, from 29<sup>th<\/sup>\nto 31<sup>st<\/sup> January 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since our University would be\nhosting the event, some GEAR members led the organization of the 2020 edition\nof the conference in close collaboration with Leticia Bl\u00e1zquez, from the UCLM\u2019s\nTalavera and Toledo Campuses. All together worked hard to successfully ensure a\nwonderful conference for all the attendees and speakers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GEAR members participated\nnot only as organizers but also as speakers in the academic sessions of the\nconference. Gueddari, A., Zafrilla, J., Garc\u00eda-Yuste, S., Alonso-Moreno, C., Canales-V\u00e1zquez, J. Paper awared with the best flash session prize of the conference. Congrats Abde!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inter-institutional research project: \u00abRed Tem\u00e1tica de Modelizaci\u00f3n Energ\u00e9tica para una Transici\u00f3n Energ\u00e9tica Sostenible (MENTES)\u00bb. Coordinated by Cadarso, M.A. and presented by Arocena, P.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Reaffirming\nour commitment to the environment and sustainability, the GEAR group promoted a\nsustainable conference from the organization and did our best to get the\nprovisions needed during the conference from eco-friendly suppliers. Moreover,\nwe assessed the carbon footprint of the event and found that it reached 10.2\ntonnes of CO2, approximately. The estimate covered all the direct and indirect\ncarbon emissions generated in the organization and by all attendees. These\nfindings were presented at the closing ceremony, where it was announced that\nthe conference\u2019s carbon footprint would be totally compensated by the Vice-rectorate\nfor Research of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, we\nalso want to highlight the remarkable achievements reached by two GEAR young\nmembers, \u00c1ngela Garc\u00eda-Alaminos and Santacruz Banacloche, who received two of\nthe Energy Economics Young Researchers Awards of the conference. Santacruz\nobtained a travel grant for his outstanding work and \u00c1ngela was awarded the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\nPrize for Young Researchers for the article with the highest quality and relevance in the field of\nEnergy Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations\nto \u00c1ngela and Santacruz for their prizes and all GEAR members and Leticia\nBl\u00e1zquez for making possible such a great
