October 7-10, 2026, Cuenca, Spain
The fifth Colloquium of the Spanish Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Society

Mechanics across Realms
Experimental, Numerical and Mathematical Perspectives
The field of mechanics, integrating experimental, numerical, and mathematical approaches, plays a pivotal role in solving complex problems across science and engineering. This colloquium, organized under the auspices of the Spanish Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Society (STAMS or SEMTA in Spanish) in collaboration with the International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), aims to establish a dynamic and multidisciplinary platform for researchers to share insights, ideas, and breakthroughs. By emphasizing the synergies between experimental techniques, numerical simulations, and mathematical modeling, the colloquium seeks to address contemporary challenges and drive forward innovation in mechanics.
The main objectives are
- To provide a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration among experimentalists, computational scientists, and applied mathematicians.
- To highlight cutting-edge developments and applications of mechanics in engineering, physics, and other disciplines.
- To explore the role of numerical simulations and mathematical theories in advancing experimental mechanics.
- To promote international cooperation in mechanics-related research and applications.
The colloquium will include about twenty invited talks by leading international researchers in mechanics covering experimental, computational and mathematical aspects. PhD students are encouraged to send a poster and participate in the Poster Competition. The winner is going to be invited to give a talk for the next STAMS colloquium (Spring of 2028).
