Supervised by Bill Stirling and Gerry Lander, I learned x-ray and neutron scattering techniques to determine antiferromagnetic structure in materials. I joined UCLM in 2010 from the ESRF (Grenoble) where I had held a beamline scientist position (and previous to that I did post-doc work on x-ray scattering at the Institute for Transuranium, Karlsruhe). My research to date has involved a great deal of use of synchrotron facilities. Currently I am interested in the study of magnetic nanoparticle assemblies \u2013 in particular, how structural information from scattering measurements can help to understand magnetic properties of such assemblies<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I studied Physics at Durham University and a PhD at the University of Liverpool.
