The main goal of this project is studied how the use of Post-WIMP technologies, by means of multisensory activation, help in the patients’ rehabilitation. Similarly, it is studied how the exploitation of haptic and vestibular (by means of “walk in place” platforms) stimuli impacts in both the development of tele-rehabilitation systems and the design of rehabilitation tasks designed by specialists. Moreover, it is proposed to turn such systems into Collaborative
Virtual Environments (CVE) that enable patients to interact with their peers and specialists, improving the feeling of presence both individual and social, and to determine its effects on their isolation and motivation.

Su objetivo es estudiar cómo la introducción de tecnologías Post-WIMP, mediante la activación multi-sensorial, pueden ayudar en la rehabilitación física y cognitiva de los pacientes. De igual manera, se estudia cómo afecta la introducción de estímulos de tipo háptico y propioceptivo en el desarrollo de los sistemas de tele-rehabilitación, y en las tareas de rehabilitación diseñadas por los especialistas. Además, se plantea convertir dichos sistemas en Entornos Virtuales de Colaboración (EVC) que permitan a los pacientes interactuar con otros pacientes y especialistas, mejorando la sensación de presencia individual y social y determinando cómo afecta para mitigar el aislamiento y mejorar su motivación.
