Curriculum Vitae

Gonzalo Garcia-Donato

I have been Associate Professor of Mathematics at the Department of Economy and Finance at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) since August 2009. My research mainly focuses on Bayesian statistics in the area of model selection, hypothesis testing and model uncertainty. My secondary line of research is the validation and calibration of complex computer models. Apart from these lines, I never say no to an interesting applied research.

I obtained my PhD degree in Statistics under the supervision of Prof. Maria Jesus Bayarri at the University of Valencia in 2003.

Since December, 2021 I am co-editor of Bayesian Analysis (ranked 14/125 in JCR 2020) and Associate Editor of Test (ranked 35/125) since November, 2016. Formerly I was Associate Editor of Bayesian Analysis in the period 2016-2021.

I was elected secretary of the Objective Bayesian section of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis for the period 2016-2017 and coordinator of the Bayesian section of the Spanish Statistical Society in 2016.

I have been personally invited to give talks in several statistical meetings and have also contributed to scientific conferences in the form of oral discussions, oral presentations and posters. I have also given seminars in several universities and institutions including Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Universidad Tecnica de Lisboa, Universidad de Valencia, Duke University, University of Warwick and Athens University of Economics and Business.

I am member of the VABAR research group and I am an active collaborator of the Health Inequalities in the FISABIO research center.
