Antonio F. Antiñolo was born in Cartagena, Spain in 1956. He obtained his B.Sc. in 1978 from the University of Murcia and his D.Phil. in 1982 with Prof. P.Royo at the University of Alcalá de Henares. After his post-doctoral appointment with Prof. M.F.Lappert in 1983-4 at the University of Sussex in United Kingdom, Antonio Antiñolo took up a lectureship position at the University of Alcalá de Henares in 1985. In 1990 he moved to Ciudad Real in the Spanish Mancha and for more than 10 years he worked at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in collaboration with Prof. A. Otero. He becomes Professor in 1999 in the same University. His current research interests are centred in the synthesis and characterization of metallocenes and non-metallocene derivatives of early transition metals as possible stereoselective or stereoespecific catalysts in organic synthesis, the activation of small molecules and  X-H bonds (X=H, C, N, P, O).
